Hats off to 6’4” Chad Pegg of Kelso High School. He inherited the unenviable defensive task of guarding 6’10” Steven Bjornstad of Columbia River High School. Bjornstad averaged 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4 blocks per game last season. He also shot 80 percent from the field.
On Tuesday night, Bjornstad scored only 6 points thanks to the constant pressure applied by Pegg and his Highlander teammates.
Defensively, Bjornstad got his share with 20 rebounds and 3 blocks in Columbia River’s 44-38 victory over Kelso.
