It is always fun to look forward to traditional rivalries. Just 10 miles apart, a 1A power and a solid 2A participant will go at it this Friday and it has the makings of a potential great game.
It should be a tough physical game where a turnover here or there could determine the outcome of the entire game.
Montesano, the smaller 1A school has won the last three contests and bring both size and speed as well as a solid system. Prior to the Bulldog's hot streak, Elem had won eight straight over their western neighbor.
The Eagles certainly know they face a great team and rival, but their focus is on the rest of the season as they face tough competition every week in the Evergreen Conference.
Montesano’s captains for the season are Ryan Campbell, Kurt Fry, Kale Trimble and Parker Waber.
For Elma, its captains for the season are Garrett Stoney, Cody Taylor, Tyson Sutten, Mike Bowe and Ford Davis.
