Short-Handed Napavine Clips Toledo

Napavine's Stephanee Stedham slams the ball down on Toledo on Monday evening.

While missing three of its starting players, A Napavine volleyball team with three freshemen seeing a lot of action fought, scratched and clawed to a hard fought 22-25, 25-19, 28-26, 18-25, 15-9 victory over neighboring Toledo in a non-league match Monday evening.

Toledo's Vanessa Reich had power and cleverness, but at times was innaccurate with her "kills".

"There were moments when there was a spark tonight" said Tiger Coach Monica Daily who has been waiting for full development of her team.

Sophomore McKenna Hoyt contributed 10 kills and six blocks for the Tigers while Aimee Gerard had five blocks, three kills and perfect serving.

For Toledo, Holly Durham totaled 20 assists while Vanessa Reich added 10 kills and 15assists. Haylee Ashley had four blocks and three kills.

Stephanie Styger of Napavine hits the floor to defend a "kill" by Toledo.
